Edit your forms

Hi there. This is Jason from Grow My Business and today I wanna show you how to edit your
website’s forms. So here we’ve got a really basic template or old templates contact form.

So we’ve got name, phone, email, your message that you wanna send. So pretty basic but say maybe you wanna add in your address, maybe a tra you know where to go. It’s a thousand different situations. So let’s switch back to this tab over here. So we’ve logged in.

If you dunno how to log into your website, we’ve got a separate video for that. So we’re here on the main dashboard and on 99% of our sites we’re using gravity forms. If that isn’t there, I’d get into contact with us directly ’cause it might be a little bit different.

But the general gist of it is we’ll go to forms, see which one are we working with, our contact form, which just want to click edit here. Now we can see the basic layout here. This is a pretty user-friendly interface. Um, there’s nothing too squirrel you can do.

Um, but for just basic editing, say we wanna have, um, oh well for here we’ve actually got this as placeholders, but you still wanna give it a label. So we’ll call it. Uh, and we’re gonna go down here to a parent. So we’re gonna have this layout where the text is inside.

There’s actually a placeholder so we’re good address and we wanna hide the label, but we still need to put a label in there ’cause that’s how it’s like, uh, indexed in the back end of the site and when you get notified of it. So that’s how you know what field it is rather than having random pieces of information.

Uh, we can set the field size like small, medium or large. I’d always just keep it at large ’cause it kind of just automatically will scale nicer. Um, there’s some other great fields here so we can use the actual dress,
dress field, um, which is also great, but it’s a bit, it’s a bit massive, you know, I mean it is good if you’re doing really exact things like shipping, but if you just need to know like the general location, I’ll just do that. You got your date blocks, you got phone and stuff.

Um, things like phone you wanna be careful with because you wanna make sure it’s an international, otherwise it’ll get tripped up on like home phone numbers in New Zealand and stuff like that. If we go back to add fields, um, you also wanna add recapture.

Some of our sites use turnstile. So if you see turnstile, I’d click that instead. As you can see here, since it’s a development site, we haven’t enabled capture. So it tells you to enable it. This is how you delete stuff. Example, uh, and then save form. We go back

here, refresh. What do you look at that?
We now got a dress field as well. Crazy. So, um, yeah, that’s how you edit your forms. It’s real simple. Um, don’t be afraid.

Play around, figure it out. It’ll be great. You can do whatever you want.
