How to set up Stripe & create a payment link
Transcript:
Hello, um so I just thought I’d make a quick video on how to set up Stripe. It can be super easy but it is just a wee bit of a process. So if we just go to stripe.com/nz then we’re gonna click the start now button.
We’re gonna be brought to here so I’m gonna use, not that one, a macro. Mybusiness.co.nz, full name, Daniella Elwood, country New Zealand, password, I’m gonna use an autofill because those are the safest, get emails, no thanks, create account.
So that’s step one, which is pretty straightforward. I’m gonna add that password to my last pass, so, and verify email. Cool, awesome. I can go over to my email and I can see that that has come through to my email, so I’ve just clicked verify email from my email address.
And, oh that’s, what do we have over here, but we’re just gonna put pop back here. Awesome. Too easy. Complete the profile. So now we just have to go through step by step and follow all of the business going to show you through here as well.
So this is the test mode because we haven’t set up ah to accept the payments yet. So we can complete the profile here. To complete your profile I’d set aside like five to ten minutes um get all of your New Zealand business number sorted, your ah maybe New Zealand business number extract that has the number, the address, and your um legal business name all in one document.
Um that’s super easy to get ah if you’ve got a New Zealand business number because you need to be able to verify your business. Ah you also just need your bank account number and a few things about the business but through complete the profile just follow it step by step it’ll walk you through and then you’ll be all good.
But this is the dashboard sort of thing that you will see. Over here you’ve got the balances, transactions, customers, blah blah blah, um all the billing, reporting, payments, all of that is um brilliant.
It’s super easy to work through, you’ve got your settings over here, if we look at the settings here, ah sometimes you might need to change some of your business details, profile documents, anything, if you add people to your team, but this here is where you can sort everything out, ah billing plans, subscription invoices, and the customers.
So that’s super interesting there, ah so the current plan and the way that um Stripe gets paid is just a small percentage on the payments that are made through Stripe. So Stripe only makes money from you if you’re making money through Stripe, is how that works. what else have we got?
Create an invoice, subscription, a payment link or a payment. So this payment link will be important for quite a few ah people there. So if we ah create a payment link and say we want to do like a consult, let’s say we’ve got a few options. So we’ll do a 60-minute consult.
We can add an image here to upload ah if you’ve got something that you’d like people 60-minute consult, give you a description. So we’ll do a 60-minute consult, we’ll do a 60-minute consult, we’ll do a 60-minute Secondly, and then we add that product.
So this is what it will look like for people. So this is the example, this is the test mode. So do we need to click their address? Probably not. Uh do you need to limit the number of payments? What advanced options have we got? Custom fields, so different bits of text there. Get one. Numbers or drop downs. And so F*, umm I like how numbers only, umm how many people are attending.
Umm something like that. Uh just information that you would need for your consult. Uh limits. Option. All of those sorts of things. And then what you have up here is this link here. And that’s where you’d copy this link.
And this is what you can paste into your booking system. Into the redirects. That you can send to uh clients and things. So all of that is really helpful there but super easy to make away. way.
Uhh, product with in-strike there. Cool. Cool. So for now that should be pretty much everything you need to know. Um, if you’ve got more in-depth questions, sing out or contact strike.
But yeah, I hope that’s a good place to get you started. Thanks so much. Bye.
