How to edit text on Bricks (body + headings + faqs)
Transcript:
Hello, I’m just going to show you how to edit some text on your website using Bricks.
So, when you’re logged into your site, you’ll see you’ve got this little black band at the top, and you can see all the front end here.
So, for example, if I want to change this text, which is just filler text, um, I can show you how to do that.
So, what we’re going to do is, we’re going to go over to here and click on to our dashboard.
Then, we’re going to go to our pages and choose the page that we’d like to edit. So, as you can see, when I hover, I’ve got a few different options here that I can see.
The one that I want to do, particularly on the front end is to click on it with bricks.
That then opens our bricks builder and I’ve got, uhm, it looks like this.
So, we’ve got our different, uhm, containers and sections and things here. The easiest way, it’s, uhm, super straightforward and what we’re going to do is just click on what we want to change and we can change it right here.
So, for example, I might want to make that the ampersand.
The other way that I can do this is I can change the text over in the left side here, with a longer sentence that’s not super feasible. Or, worth it really, uhm, unless you’ve got a sentence that you want to just copy and paste in there, that’s all good.
For changing the text on a button as well, you can, uhm, change the text here. So, for example, if I wanted to make that a lowercase c across, uhm, throughout the site. Uh, or keep it as an uppercase or change this to get in touch, then I can just do that there as well.
The other way that we can do this, if we pop over to the side, if I can see, I can see heading here, I can see rich text here, so this will bring up my paragraph.
Similarly, uh, for this section here, I can say, I can just, uhm, paste my content right in there, uhm, if I already have that, which is really fantastic.
This is the same for, uhm, all of the areas where you can see some text on your site here, uh, and particularly for FAQs and accordions as well. So you can, uh, again, click on these to open them. They will just open them as is.
And then you can text, uh, click onto the filler text there as well, uh, for, particularly for the answers. And similarly with the questions, you can pop your questions in there, or you can type them directly into here as well.
Uhm, this is also a true for your testimonials, again, just clicking on them there. You can use the, uhm, rich text side here as well, but visually, I think it’s easier just to click straight on the sections there too.
Yes, and then when you’re finished with that and happy with what the words say, then you can click on the save button here in the top corner, with that nice, fantastic or encouraging note there.
You can take a test to see what this looks like on the front end with the changes that you’ve made, uhm. throughout the site there, and then if you’re happy with that, then you can just go back, click this yellow button in the top corner, and go back to the, uhm, overall pages there.
Thank you so much.
