Setup Email Automation in MailerLite

Instructions:

Email automations are a great way to keep new subscribers engaged and send them useful information automatically.

For example, if you have a free download or sign-up form on your website, you can set up an automation to send the download, welcome new subscribers, and follow up with additional emails.

Create an automation

  1. Log in to your MailerLite account.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Click Start Building from Scratch.
  4. Choose your workflow trigger.

The trigger is what starts the automation. For example:

  • When someone joins a group.
  • When someone signs up through your website.
  • When someone downloads a free resource.
  1. Select the group you want to use for the automation.
  2. Click Save.

Add your first email

  1. Click the + button to add your first step.
  2. Choose Send Email.
  3. Create your email:
    • Add an email name.
    • Design your email content.
    • Add any information you would like to send to your subscribers.

This first email could be used to:

  • Send a free download.
  • Welcome new subscribers.
  • Introduce your business.
  1. Click Save.

Add a delay between emails

  1. Click the + button to add another step.
  2. Choose Delay.
  3. Set the amount of time you would like to wait before sending the next email.

For example, you could wait around five days before sending the next email so subscribers do not feel overwhelmed.

  1. Add your next email.

A simple email automation can include around three to five emails depending on your goals.

Add an action at the end of your workflow

Once your emails are complete, you can add an action to manage your subscribers.

Possible actions include:

  • Move subscribers to a different group.
  • Copy subscribers to another group.
  • Remove subscribers from a group.

Choose the action that best suits your workflow.

  1. Click Save.

Your email automation is now set up and will run automatically when subscribers enter your chosen group.

This helps you create a consistent email journey without needing to manually send each email.
