How to set up Calendly

How to set up Calendly

Transcript:

So I’m just going to show you how to set up Calendly, super easy and super great if you ah just want one free book and call with people, ah for a way for people to book with you really easily that integrates with your calendar, uhm and particularly if you don’t need a redirect to a payment link.

While that’s possible, uhm that’s in the paid version, but the free one where you just want like hey, give us a phone call for 10 minutes or 15 minutes, free discovery call, this is perfect. So ah you’ve got a few options here, you can sign up with Google and this one is really fast and smooth because it will integrate with your Google calendar straight away as well.

Alternatively, if your email is with Microsoft and you run your calendar through that, again, Thank you for watching. very quick and easy uhm pathway there or sign up free with email. So I’m just going to take this pathway for now just so that we can see what’s going on.

And that one’s already got one so I’m going to put in admin and sign up. Again, I’m prompted to just connect it with my Google account, which I would love to do, but let’s just go through the different pathway for now and click on here.

So, I want Daniella Elwood. Choose a password. Daniella will do. Oh goodness, no. Alright, there we go. Awesome. I would like to save that. Not now there. Cool, now I need to go to my email address and just double check. Cool. Confirm my email there. going to share this text. Cool. Enter my password. That’s what just came up there.

I’m all logged in, um this is what’s prompted next, how do I plan to use it on my own with my team. So I’m going to just be by myself for now, continue, what kind of work do I do, we’ll pick the main one. Let’s go with customer success. So as you can see the first thing that pops up is um some how to’s on the side which can be really helpful if ah to learn more there and also an automatic ah meeting link there.

So what I would like to do is pop over to the top corner here and click on calendar sync. If I didn’t take the smoother pathway before, I would like to continue.

I would mine with a Google Calendar, so I’m going to click connect there. I would like to connect it with this one. And continue there. Would like to access my Google Calendar. Google account. Allow.

And it’s as easy as that. Now what I can do, if I can go back home, and I can edit this. So as you can see, 30 minute meeting, edit there. Here I can change all of the settings. So my calendar is only going to come up with the dates and times that I am available in my calendar.

And how I can edit that is my scheduling settings. So I can have people book with me 60 days in advance, and my weekdays 9-5, that is absolutely not what I work. So I am going to make that 8.30 in the morning to, I don’t really like talking to people after 2.30, and I’m going to make that for every day there.

But on uhm on Thursdays, maybe I will actually finish a wee bit earlier, and so I would like to have that not past 1 o’clock on a Thursday, and actually even a Monday. We have a team meeting in the morning, so I’m not going to start that until 11am on a Monday. Friday is an absolute write-off, I don’t want to, I don’t want, I don’t work Fridays in that way. 4:12 So, that’s how we do that there, custom hours, perfect, and save and close. Buffer times, if I ah don’t want to have people So, after the event, I could have a 10-15 minute buffer time after that.

I’m just gonna put a 10 minute one there. Minimum notice four hours, so people can’t book with me ah within the next four hours, and daily limit is not set. So, yeah, I The start time increments is also really important. So, do I want people to be able to choose every like 30 minutes, every 15 minutes?

I’m just gonna leave it at 30 because it’s super easy, and again, save and close. Now, here this top one, event details. So, I can um call it what I want. I’m gonna call 15, uhm, 15-minute catch-up. Duration, 15 minutes. Uh, I’m just gonna do, what am I gonna do? I’m gonna do Google Meet because that’s my preferred way to talk to people.

And description, hey let’s, let us, let’s, let’s catch up. And that’s what people will see there. Uh, it’s always gonna be a one-on-one event. Cool, that’s all good. Booking page options, this part’s a bit more important. Uh, event link is gonna be again 15 minutes.

What do I need from people? So here is where I figure out what I need from people. So do I want their name? Do I need their last name as well? Um, can people add guests? Questions? Um, so this part again is also really important. So please share anything that will help us prepare.

I can make it that people have to answer this, and I can also um decide on how people answer. So are they just given a one line of text or multiple lines? Are there checkboxes? Is it gonna be like, hey, um how many people are you bringing to the meeting?

Uh, 1 to 2, 3 to 4, something like that. Uh, where would you like to meet? Like for a coffee in person or on Google Meet, um phone number, all, all lots of different options there on or off. Do I need a collect payment? Now this one, um you need to collect either your Stripe account or your PayPal, which is a whole different kettle of fish.

Um, and I’m currently, when you start, you start on a paid version. So, um after booking, we can do redirect to an external site or calendar confirmation page. However, if I want the paid version, I can do redirect, but on the free version, I can’t do redirect.

Cool, and again, save and close. 6:58 Now, for your website, what we want to do is, we’ve got a couple options here. So, to send people your link, you can simply click copy your link, and this is the link that will crop up. Um, and to share, this is how again, you’ve got, this is, this is my link here.

Um, and the other thing I can do is add to my website. And I can, ah, get the inline embed code, and that means it’s going to show inside my website and people on my website to book, pop-up widget, or a pop-up So, a few different options there. Inline embed is typically the way to go.

So, we click on that and click continue. This all looks crazy, that’s fine. Ah, what I want to do there is copy code and send to my website, ah, designer, or builder. So, yeah, that’s all that there. Copy code, paste into an email, and you are good to go.

I hope that helps. Thank you so much.
